Empowering Mothers, Families and Communities

Muffins for Magnus was created in memory of my son, Magnus Brent Petersen, who passed away at just five days old from a rare bacterial infection called Proteus mirabilis meningoencephalitis. While his life was heartbreakingly short, his legacy continues through our work.

Our mission is to honor Magnus by spreading kindness, building community, and advocating for improvements in maternal and infant healthcare. We believe even the smallest acts of kindness—like sharing homemade muffins—can make a meaningful difference.

We intend to use the support we gather towards the goal of advocating for safer maternity care, greater awareness of maternal and infant health, and supporting families who have experienced pregnancy, infant, or child loss. We also hope that by educating communities and families, they will be enabled and empowered to better help and protect themselves, as well as others.

As our business grows, we hope to expand our charitable efforts and partner with organizations that share these values.

We also hope Muffins for Magnus becomes a reminder that love can continue long after loss, and that one small life can inspire compassion, generosity, and positive change.
